Kitchen Talk | The Art of Balancing Function + Style in the Kitchen
I don't know one person that maintains a consistently editorial-worthy kitchen, do you?? If so, please introduce me so I can go visit this amazing triumph! My kitchen may look shiny + organized one day, + the next a tornado of flour, spilt coffee + cat fur swirls through but, that's what I love. I love the balancing act kitchens undergo every day. It's their duty to allow for functionality + creativity + I don't believe you need to sacrifice personal style for it. In all honesty, sometimes I even love waking up to a messy kitchen, I know that sounds weird, but it's true!
The mess is a reminder of what took place the night before
The dishes with cake remnants or the empty wine bottles recall a magical gathering with friends. Of course, I clean it up + am back to my fresh kitchen within an hour but, I'm reminded that kitchens are one of the most important + heartwarming places we have.
Kitchens are by far the hub of the house + therefore deserve a lot of attention in terms of functional yet aesthetic design. Even though my own is small + someones tail is always getting stepped on (usually Marbles the cat), it's also where my husband + I come together to cook, prepare cocktails, or gather with friends. It's important to me to have a space where objects I love + functional appliances can live in harmony. I've done a lot of rearranging since moving in + finally feel like I can share my kitchen with y'all! It my not be perfect but, I think I've found a balance where functionality + my personal style flow seamlessly together...for the time being at least.

Embrace your life + style
Find the objects that reflect your style. Hand lotions, soaps, salt cellars, + even dish racks are everyday objects that I have no intention of putting away every time someone comes over. Allow them to become part of the decor + you won't need to constantly rearrange.
