Friday Faves | Removable Wallpaper
Since moving to our new apartment in Long Beach I've been thinking a lot about designing for renters, specifically wall design decisions. I've known + put up with so many different landlords that I've come to expect a list of rules we can + cannot do to our space.
Walls seem to be of particular interest to landlords...no hanging of pictures or curtains unless approved, no repainting, or you can paint but, the landlord must approve colors, or you have to paint it back when you move out. But these days, most of us stay renters for a very long time + what if you plan to stay in your current apartment for many years? The markets changed + it's unfair to expect renters to live in a barren space until they can afford to own.
I love all the new design tricks that have evolved for renters, specifically...REMOVABLE WALLPAPER! That's right, if you haven't heard, it does exist + they're super cute.
