Wedding Trends for 2016
FAVORITE TRENDS FOR ALL YOU 2016 BRIDES OUT THERE
With every new year weddings seem to be more beautiful, creative + all about showcasing your style. From twists on classic weddings to whimsical + airy weddings, there is bound to be a style you can relate to.
Now, trends are great, I love em. My first AOL handle was TrendSetter16, *I was 15, no judgement, please. But, trends can be dangerous too. It's easy to get caught up in all the Pinterest madness that you forget what you actually wanted for your wedding.
I like to think of trends as inspiration. Take these images as inspiration rather than truths. Be realistic with your expectations + open to ideas that will fit your real budget + guest count.
Venues
More + more I'm planning or attending weddings that are all in one venue. Rather than separating the ceremony from the reception venues are anticipating the all-inclusive bride. I love this idea as it allows for guests to have a more seamless experience, is less stressful for the bride, groom + wedding party, + can sometimes even be cheaper.
The Trends: open ceremony seating, cocktail receptions, long rectangular farm tables, lounge seating + unique desserts.

Decor
Mixing styles + unexpected tabletop decor is what 2016 is all about. Think of geode table numbers, moody dark palettes with pops of scarlet red + orange, or tropical print runners mixed with clean glass chargers + a hint of metallics.
The trends: unique tabletop decor, watercolor calligraphy, textiles, impactful backdrops, neutral palettes + big bright colors. Anything metallic, rose gold or copper, minerals + geode's are right on the top of the list too.
This year is all about your style. Have with your decor, mix it up so it fits your taste + exudes your beauty.

Florals
From wild botanicals to modern air plants, florals are one of the most important elements of your 2016 wedding.
The Trends: hanging centerpieces, floral backdrops, garland tabletops, clean greenery or bold bright florals, long stem cascading bouquets, air plants, herbs + floral party favors.

Dresses
I find myself on Free People a lot + often times find myself wandering over to their FP Ever After category. I absolutely love their selection of wedding dresses, from two-pieces to super flow-y gowns. I can speak from experience that the Moroccan Set by Stone Cold Fox is absolutely wonderful. I wore this for my own wedding almost two years ago + it's still trending.
The Trends: two-piece, cut-out back, high neck, laser cut prints, flowing skirts + long sleeves.
