4 Secrets to Holiday Decor
Every time November, December and January sneak up on me I always pull out my very sad + sparse holiday decor box. I'm slowly accumulating items that I love + getting rid of the traditional 'piano teacher' decor (you know what I'm talking about). But, this year I want to make my home feel inspired, excited + happy about the holidays! The holidays are sometimes the most hectic + stressful time of year but it doesn't have to be at home.
I've also been pinning a crazy amount + I've come across a lot of great holiday decor ideas. Here are some of the best ways to 'holiday-up' your space without looking cheesy, or like Christmas threw-up.
Neutral Colors
Nobody really likes green + red together, maybe if you get the right hues going, but usually not. Super simple, just keep it neutral. Gold, white, silver + grey make great base colors, while dark crimson red, burnt sienna, sage + blush, make great accent colors.
All Natural
I love using all natural materials for my decor. Pine branches + cones, ferns, holly, rosemary, dahlias + sage are all great choices for wreaths, table decor, + arrangements. You should totally hop on the herb wreath train too.
Avoid Santa
After 10 years old, you should really get rid of felt Santa + entourage. Replace them with modern elements such as unique trees, white candles + geometric ornaments. Clean lines declutter your space + keep it easy on the eyes.
Wrap it Up
Combing craft paper, twine, + rosemary is one of my most favorite wrapping pairings. Have fun with it though!
