Spontaneous Desert Adventure
We all need a little adventure in our lives. For me, this usually manifests in the form of spontaneous day trips + that's exactly what happened the other day. Lyndsey Yeomans, the incredibly talented photographer behind Jack + Lola Photography + I met up in Palm Springs for a quick, setting-sun photoshoot to honor my favorite flea market finds.
This shoot completely embodies what I believe beauty is all about. I find beauty in the unexpected, quirky + found pieces throughout our lives. Pieces that fill our homes should connect with us on a level beyond aesthetics + inspire us to be greater beings.
Before I left for the shoot I piled all the pieces I wanted to bring in a corner + realized I couldn't + shouldn't bring it all. I kept repeating, "simplify + be content". Regardless of how many can't-live-without pieces I pick up along the way, there will always be the few standouts that hit a chord for me every time I see them. Rattan chair, retro rug, navajo vase + a vintage Mexican blanket. These are defining pieces of my style + I couldn't imagine a more perfect collection to take to the desert.
